A Bit of TamilNadu

Summers have arrived and kids are ready to enjoy their vacations. So I was thinking to explore a part of India where people can enjoy their vacations with scenic beauty, yummy food and less temperature.
Well I am talking about beautiful state of India that is Tamilnadu. Located in South India, Tamilnadu has various places to visit. Its scenic beauty is mesmerizing. The western, southern and northern parts are rich in vegetation and hilly. It has high literacy rate compared to other states and its capital Chennai is preferred by students as a choice for their further studies.

Tamilnadu is good place to explore as summers here are less hot. Coming to specific places, Ooty is a beautiful hill station also called as “Queen of hills” where two ghats ranges meet. Well I have always heard about this place in movies as actors/actresses used to plan their trips here as a part of movie scenes.

Next is Kodaikanal, in Tamil language it means “The Gift of the Forest”. Got to know about this place from a friend, he is a native here. Kodaikanal is also known as “Princess of Hill Stations” and is a famous tourist place in Tamilnadu. The beautiful hills and forests, meadows, rocks and slopes capture the heart of visitors and are a source of delight, pleasure and thrill.

It is believed in Tamilnadu, well not just here but in many regions of India that “serving food to others is a service to humanity”. Most of the South-Indian food was originated from Tamilnadu. The region is rich in both vegetarian and no-vegetarian cuisines. Not knowing much about non-vegetarian dishes but I love to eat Idli-Sambhar, Dosa and Uttapam. Rice and legumes plays a major role in Tamil cuisines. Traditionally food here is served on Banana leaf. Many websites have emerged which offers various Tamil delicacies to learn.
One can visit them and learn to cook various South-IndianTamil dishes be it veg. or non-veg.
